Back to "Is Michael Skakel Guilty?" |
Let's look at six of the ridiculous statements of Mark Fuhrman in an attempt to "profile the crime and "prove" Littleton could not be the killer (more will certainly be added to this list, so stay tuned): 1. Littleton had no connection with Martha. From the crime scene and body we know (italics added) the victim knew the suspect. Fuhrman admits Littleton might know her from previous babysitting at the Skakel household but claims this would not be enough to call it a relationship. How the heck can he determine the victim knew her killer well from the crime scene? He must have gotten this from Profiling 101 - Myths and foolish profiling theories you can use in a pinch. 2. Littleton has an alibi. Fuhrman claims Littleton's alibi is unpacking in his bedroom and watching a movie. Since when are unwitnessed activities alibis? Later on he says Littleton states the crime may have happened after 10:30 pm - how would Littleton know this unless he did it himself? - and what is his alibi for THAT time? 3. Littleton had cooperated with the authorities. Again, Fuhrman seems to be unaware that many a serial killer has been very cooperative with the authorities. Just recently Ward Weaver of Oregon looked in the camera and stated his innocence and encouraged the police to check out his property where they found, well, two bodies of the missing girls he claimed not to have abducted 4. Littleton had no motive. He was a big, good-looking guy who had never had trouble with women. Well, THAT has been disproved, Mark. And the only motive he needs is the same one all serial killers need - a desire for power and control. 5. Littleton had no opportunity. He wasn't familiar with the house or the neighborhood. I guess we will ignore the previous time at the house and the fact it doesn't take an extended stay to figure out a block of the neighborhood. 6. Littleton had no money, no powerful family behind him, not clout. If Littleton had murdered Martha Moxley, he would not have gotten away with it. This is truly the most laughable point of all. Is Fuhrman actually saying all serial killers get caught because they don't have good jobs? If that were true, the closure rate for these crimes would not be so abysmally low.
